Declining rates of HPV vaccine in School Immunisation Program
17 September 2021
There has been a decline in recent years of students aged 12-13 receiving their second dose of the HPV vaccine through the School Immunisation Program.
If a child aged 12-13 is not vaccinated against HPV through the School Immunisation Program, it is still beneficial for them to get vaccinated elsewhere after this age to ensure full protection from HPV.
South Australians are eligible for two free HPV doses up to 19 years of age.
We are asking for your help to ensure that any of your patients who are within the age group of 12-19 years know they are eligible for two free HPV vaccine doses.
