An overview of the regulation and licensing requirements that apply to private health facilities and ambulance services in South Australia.
Private health facilities fees and charges
The prescribed fee must be paid before a licensing application will be assessed. Fees are indexed annually and published by gazettal notice.
These fees will operate from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023:
Private hospitals licensed under Part 10 of the Health Care Act 2008
- Licence application fee $10,200.00
- Fee for grant of licence $10,200.00
- Variation of licence/conditions of licence fee $2,550.00
- Annual licence fee (1-25 beds) $2,805.00
- Annual licence fee (26-50 beds) $3,570.00
- Annual licence fee (51-100 beds) $5,100.00
- Annual licence fee (101-150 beds) $6,630.00
- Annual licence fee (151-200 beds) $8,160.00
- Annual licence fee (>200 beds) $11,220.00
- Application fee for transfer of licence $2,550.00
- Application for alteration/extension of premises $3,570.00
- Application to change services provided $2,550.00
- Additional inspection of premises fee $2,550.00
Private day procedure centres licensed under Part 10A of the Health Care Act 2008
- Licence application fee $5,100.00
- Fee for grant of licence $5,100.00
- Annual licence fee $1,530.00
- Application fee for transfer of licence $1,530.00
- Variation of licence/conditions of licence fee $1,530.00
- Application for alteration/extension of licenced premises $3,570.00
- Application to change services provided $1,530.00
- Additional inspection of premises fee $1,530.00
