Upgrade of Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Emergency Department
An important milestone is approaching in the upgrade of the Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Emergency Department (ED).
The concept plans for the $7 million upgrade are close to being finalised, after several months of consultation with clinicians and other key health stakeholders in the Murray Bridge region.
Staff at Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital would be aware of the increasing demand on the site’s emergency services. In 2016-17, the site had just over 6,600 emergency presentations. This is expected to grow to 14,500 presentations by 2026, with the planning for this unprecedented growth is already well underway.
A range of people and organisations have been involved in designing the concept plans to ensure the successful construction of the new ED. These entities include local doctors and nurses, SA Ambulance, infection control specialists and clinical leaders at Country Health SA.
