NSW Hepatitis A Outbreak

Saturday, 7 April 2018

Coles has removed Creative Gourmet frozen pomegranate products from store freezers, following a NSW Health warning linking a hepatitis A outbreak to the imported products.

SA Health is advising consumers to dispose of the product purchased from Coles as a safety precaution or to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Those affected by the current outbreak are based in Sydney, the Central Coast and Wollongong.

There have been no unexplained cases of hepatitis A recorded in South Australia this year.

The 180 gram product affected has a best before date up to and including 21 March 2020.

Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

While South Australia is not affected by the current outbreak, we will continue to work with NSW Health to ensure consumers in SA are not at risk.
