COVID Cases in SA
There have been 2,874 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 21,748 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.
There are 221 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 164 people are fully vaccinated, 49 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and eight have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found around 94.9% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 7,088 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 29% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,431 PCR tests were positive, while 1,443 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.5% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.5% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 71.9% of eligible South Australians and 65.9% of South Australians aged 16+.
