COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,924 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 24,621 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm one woman in her 80s, one man in his 50s, and one man in his 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 222 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 11 people in ICU, and one person requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 162 people are fully vaccinated, 53 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and seven have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling has found around 93.8% of samples taken were BA.2.

Yesterday, 11,015 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is less than a 1% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,339 PCR tests were positive, while 1,585 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Currently 95.4% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.4% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 71.7% of eligible South Australians and 65.5% of South Australians aged 16+.
