COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,463 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 26,944 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm one woman in her 70s, one woman in her 80s, two women in their 90s, one man in his 70s and two men in their 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 254 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU, with one person requiring a ventilator.
Of those hospitalised, 180 people are fully vaccinated, 68 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and six have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling has found around 93% of samples taken were BA.2.

Yesterday, 7,141 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 4.4% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,702 PCR tests were positive, while 1,761 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Currently 95.4% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.4% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 71.5% of eligible South Australians and 65.3% of South Australians aged 16+.
