COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,901 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 25,257 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 70s, a woman in her 80s, a man in his 60s and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 218 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 13 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 104 people had received three or more vaccine doses and 114 people are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling from 1 to 15 May has found 99% of samples taken were BA.2.

Yesterday, 11,266 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 6.7% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,169 PCR tests were positive, while 1,732 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Currently 95.7% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.7% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 72.4% of eligible South Australians and 66.8% of South Australians aged 16+.
