COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,642 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 17,459 active cases in South Australia.

There are 231 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU, with one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 125 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 101 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and five have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants

The latest genome sampling from 1 to 21 June has found 74.6% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing

Yesterday, 7,110 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 11.2% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,386 PCR tests were positive, while 1,256 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
