COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,807 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,345 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women in their 40s, a woman in her 50s, a man in his 40s, and a man in his 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 210 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including five people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 127 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 78 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and five have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants

The latest genome sampling has found 83.7% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing

Yesterday 9,190 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 1.2% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,628 PCR tests were positive, while 1,179 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

Vaccination update

Currently 95.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 72.9% of eligible South Australians and 68.2% of South Australians aged 16+.
