COVID-19 NSW Health alert
From today the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel No 25) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 came into effect.
This Direction has been amended to clarify the quarantine and testing requirements for people travelling from New South Wales to South Australia. The Northern Beaches Council (NSW) local government area is a prohibited location. People who have been in the Northern Beaches will not be permitted entry to South Australia.
If someone has visited Greater Sydney Region since 11 December 2020 or Central Coast local government area or City of Wollongong local government area since 20 December 2020 they are required to self-quarantine in a suitable location for 14 days. They must get a COVID-19 test immediately within 24 hours, on day 5, and day 12.
Some essential travellers seeking to enter SA from Prohibited Locations or a High Community Transmission Zone will need to apply using the online SA Health Essential Traveller Application form.

Residential Aged Care Direction update
From today the Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No 20) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 came into effect. The key change to the Residential Aged Care Facilities Direction is:
- High Community Transmission Zones expanded to:
- the Greater Sydney Region in New South Wales, as defined by the Greater Sydney Commission Act 2015 (NSW)(excluding the Northern Beaches Council local government area);
- the Central Coast local government area in New South Wales;
- the City of Wollongong local government area in New South Wales.
People from these areas are not permitted to enter an aged care facility.

New COVID-19 cases
There were three new cases of COVID-19 reported yesterday from a medi-hotel. Two women in their 20s and a woman in her 60s all recently returned from overseas and returned positive results on their day one test.
