Kids Hubs (previously known as ‘Head to Health Kids’) provide children up to 12 years of age, and their parents and carers, with culturally safe and accessible mental health and wellbeing support for free, without the need for a referral or Medicare card.

The Australian Government is working in partnership with all states and territories to establish a national network of Kids Hubs across Australia. A National Kids Hub Service Model has been developed to ensure a consistent approach to care across Australia, which has been adapted to meet local community needs.

The SA Kids Hub will be delivered across two locations, with the first opening at Marion GP Plus Health Care Centre in late 2025, supported by outreach services in Aldinga. A second location will be established in northern Adelaide, at a site to be confirmed.

What will the Kids Hub offer?

The Kids Hub will offer a range of flexible, child and family-centred mental health and wellbeing services, including:

Early support and care

Access to holistic assessments and therapy for children experiencing mental health, emotional, behavioural, or functional challenges.

Culturally responsive and inclusive services

A safe and welcoming space for First Nations children, culturally and linguistically diverse families, and people with diverse communication, language, sensory, and accessibility needs.

Support for parents and carers

Practical support, resources, education, and guidance to help families support their child’s mental health and wellbeing.

Connections to other services

The Kids Hub will work with early childhood services, schools, community services, and other healthcare providers to ensure children and families have access to the support they need.

Community engagement

The SA Kids Hub is being developed in partnership with families, people with lived experience, community members, and service providers.

Feedback has been gathered through community sessions, surveys, postcards and service provider workshops, which has helped inform how the Kids Hub services will be delivered in South Australia.

Feedback from First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse communities has been collected to ensure the Kids Hub offers culturally safe services for children and families.
