Research at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital

The Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Health Research (BHI) was established in its current form in 1996 to foster the research programs of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH).

In 2009 a purpose built research facility was opened across from the hospital on Woodville Road. The BHI Research Facility accommodates a mix of laboratory and clinical research with each research group having close affiliations with clinicians at TQEH.

Since 1964, The Hospital Research Foundation (formerly The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Research Foundation) has been supporting TQEH and the Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Health Research.
