Speech Pathology Services at Flinders Medical Centre

The focus of Speech Pathology services at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) is to care for hospital patients who have communication or swallowing difficulties.

The department also provides speciality adult and paediatric outpatient clinics.

Outpatient services include:

  • assessment for voice problems - (laryngology clinic) – adult
  • assessment for feeding problems – paediatric
  • support for cleft lip and palate - paediatric

Patients in the community who require speech pathology services not provided through FMC may access them through their local community health centres, schools and kindergartens, Intellectual Disability Services Council, Novita Children’s Services, Domiciliary Care SA, Resthaven, Noarlunga Hospital, Flinders University Department of Speech Pathology & Audiology or private speech pathology services.
