Mental Health Services at Flinders Medical Centre

The Inner South Mental Health Service provides specialist emergency mental health services, acute inpatient care and ambulatory services for people living in the south of Adelaide.

There is a population of approximately 340,000 people in the southern metropolitan areas and 150,000 people in the inner southern area, with one in five people experiencing a mental health difficulty within their life.

Services are based at Flinders Medical Centre as well as off site.

Inner South Mental Health Service has access to specialist psychiatric adult inpatient beds and intensive care beds. It is actively involved in a training program for doctors taking up psychiatry as a specialty, and in numerous research, health promotion and academic endeavours.
