Wound Management Clinic at Flinders Medical Centre

The Wound Management Clinic is run by a Wound Management Nurse Practitioner skilled in this area.

The clinic provides care to newly referred patients with an acute or chronic wound, or patients who were a hospital inpatient requiring follow up care.

Each patient is thoroughly assessed to determine why their wound is there or why it is not healing. A management plan including wound dressings will be decided. Education will be provided to ensure understanding of the problem and participation in wound healing.

Patients may be assessed to require a referral to other medical specialties for further medical treatment or diagnosis and this will be organised in a timely manner.
