SA Healthy Towns Challenge Grant Winners 2020/21
Thirty-six applications were received in Round 3 of the SA Healthy Towns Challenge. Congratulations to the five successful recipients and a big thank you to all the thirty-six applicants.
Grant winners:
- Facility, Activity and Community: Better Health for all Ages in Macclesfield
This project will improve the facilities in Davenport Square to increase accessibility to physical activities, improve social connection and strengthen mental health of the community. - Gawler Barossa School Holiday Program
This project aims to develop and deliver a school holiday program for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the Gawler / Barossa region that will encourage their participation in health promoting activities. - Mid-Murray School Holiday Wellbeing Camps and Family Day
The project will teach children skills and strategies to make better health choices and decisions as they become adolescents and move into adulthood. - School Kitchen in Millicent
Funding will be used to develop a classroom kitchen where students and families can learn and develop skills to prepare safe and nutritious meals. - Sowing the Seeds of Resilience
The project will build a community garden/peace park to enhance and foster community engagement, promoting health and wellbeing in the prevention and post-vention of suicide in the Copper Coast region.
