Statewide Clinical Networks
The former SA Health Communities of Practice have transitioned to Statewide Clinical Networks hosted by the Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH). Information about these networks is available on the CEIH website.
Statewide Clinical Networks (SCNs) bring together health professionals, consumers and other experts to improve healthcare across South Australia.
SCNs focus on specific clinical areas and work across metropolitan and regional health services to identify opportunities for improvement, lead change, solve complex problems and improve outcomes for South Australians.
SCNs may develop models of care to support statewide approaches to care that reduce unwarranted variation in clinical practice.
The Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH) hosts and supports the SCNs.
Current Statewide Clinical Networks
South Australia currently has 12 Statewide Clinical Networks:
The Adolescent Transition Care Statewide Clinical Network supports young people moving from paediatric to adult healthcare. It brings together clinicians, consumers and other experts to improve transition pathways and outcomes across South Australia.

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Statewide Clinical Network supports the safe and appropriate use of antimicrobials across South Australia. It brings together clinicians, consumers and other experts to reduce antimicrobial resistance and improve patient outcomes across healthcare settings.

The Cardiac Care Statewide Clinical Network works to improve access to high-quality cardiovascular care for all South Australians. It brings together clinicians, consumers and other experts to coordinate care, drive innovation and improve outcomes across the entire cardiac care pathway.

The Children and Youth Health Statewide Clinical Network works to improve health outcomes for children and young people across South Australia. It brings together clinicians, consumers and other experts to support connected care and ensure lived experience informs planning and decision-making.

The Chronic Pain Statewide Clinical Network works to improve prevention, early intervention and management of pain across South Australia. The Dementia Care Statewide Clinical Network works to improve the safety and quality of care for people living with dementia in South Australia. It brings together clinicians, consumers and other experts to support person- and carer-centred care, reduce variation and improve outcomes across the health system.
