Facilitated by State-wide Gambling Therapy Services who have  postgraduate qualifications in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Aim

An overview of how Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is used to treat behavioural addictions with a focus on treatment of gambling disorder and gaming.

Outcomes

To:

  • be aware of gambling harm in Australia
  • be aware of those at increased risk for problem gambling
  • be aware of early warning signs that may indicate problem gambling behaviour
  • be aware of how best to approach a conversation about problem gambling
  • understand Gambling Disorder as a behavioural addiction
  • be aware of Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and other interventions for problem gambling
  • be aware of referral pathways for problem gambling.

Cost

  • $65.45 ($60.00 + $5.45GST)
  • $0 for all SA public mental health workforce including placement students

An administration fee of $25.00 will apply to all participants if they:

  • do not attend without notice on the day, or
  • cancel within 24 hours of the course commencing.
