Antimicrobial educational resources

The Antimicrobial Programs educational resources have been developed for use by schools, parents and communities to help inform and educate the general public about antimicrobial resistance.

School resources

The educational resources for primary school educators can be adapted for use in current learning programs. The lesson plans are linked to the Australian Curriculum (Version 8.4) and are relevant in the Science, Health and Physical Education and English fields.

Each year level from Foundation/Reception to Year 6 has five lesson plans that introduce students to:

  • microbes
  • bacteria and safe antibiotic use
  • antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

Lesson plans include an overview for teachers, links to resources and templates for activities.
