Events for the Year of the Nurse and Midwife 2020

Nurses and midwives work tirelessly to improve the health and wellbeing of the community. To celebrate their invaluable contribution to global healthcare, the World Health Organization has declared 2020 as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife (YONM).

We are proud to celebrate this historic occasion with a range of exciting events and initiatives throughout the year that nurses and midwives can engage with that recognises our past, present and future. We want to celebrate achievements, enable professional practice and empower our nurse and midwives throughout the year.

The calendar of events (PDF 94KB) includes events and initiatives that SA Health will be involved in or facilitating throughout the year in celebration of YONM. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some YONM events have been cancelled or postponed. We will continue to update the calendar of events as details are available so keep an eye out on this page for updates to the calendar.
