- maintain medical and surgical inventories
- manage and maintain assets and equipment
- manage flow of patients through the hospitals
- engage with staff at all levels to help optimise patient care
- attend meetings and present data to inform decision making
- prepare and distribute meals for patients, consumers and staff
- help patients, consumers and their families with queries around their care
- undertake service planning to prepare for organisational changes and new services
- manage service expansion projects, such as building new wards and other structures
