South Australian Public Health (Notifiable Contaminants) Regulations consultation

The South Australian Public Health (Notifiable Contaminants) Regulations (PDF 326KB) have been developed to address the increasing number of foodborne illness incidents in SA, including Salmonella and Campylobacter, and to support the national work programme that aims at reducing these increases. Once approved, these Regulations will require the reporting of certain ‘notifiable contaminants’ in food samples to SA Health.

SA Health is seeking feedback on the South Australian Public Health (Notifiable Contaminants) Regulations (PDF 326KB) specifically with regard to the list of contaminants and the detection level for notification.

Supporting details regarding these Regulations and the consultation process can be found in the Consultation document (PDF 28KB)

Consultation closes Friday 20 September 2019.
