Draft RMCLHN Strategic Plan 2027-2031 consultation open now

RMCLHN has developed a draft RMCLHN Strategic Plan 2027-2031.

This is the organisation’s second Strategic Plan – with the inaugural Plan set to expire at the end of 2026.

The draft Plan is a concise, two-page document, which outlines the organisation’s Closing the Gap commitment, Vision, Purpose, Values, Strategic Themes and Goals, and a process for implementation.

Our proposed Vision is Excellence in care, every time, for every person and every RMCLHN community.

Our Purpose remains unchanged – Our People caring for our communities.

We work together to care for care for local communities and to grow our region as a centre of excellence in rural health and care, research and teaching. We work with people to achieve the best possible quality of life by delivering timely, high-quality care as close to home as possible, upholding dignity, respect, choice, independence, and social connection.

Our Values also remain the same and are represented by RMC CARES – We are Respectful, Motivated, Compassionate, Consumer focussed, Accountable, Resourceful, we strive for Excellence and value our Service to the community.

Our Strategic Themes are:

  • Caring for our communities
  • Excellence in clinical care
  • Local accountability
  • Investing in our people

The Plan also outlines a number of Goals aligned to these four themes.

We developed the draft Plan in collaboration with our workforce, representatives from our Health Advisory Councils (HACs) and our Governing Board.

It has also been informed by the extensive consultation RMCLHN has undertaken over recent years on various plans and strategies, including our recently launched Clinical Services Plan 2025-2035 [PDF 6MB].

Everyone is invited to have their say on the draft Strategic Plan 2027-2031.

To have your say, download the draft Plan [PDF 9.1MB] then complete the short survey online at bit.ly/RMCLHNStrategicPlanConsultation.

The survey will ask you to rate your level of agreement with statements such as:

  • The proposed new vision statement feels right for RMCLHN.
  • The values outlined in the Strategic Plan reflect how RMCLHN should work with its communities and workforce.
  • The four strategic themes are appropriate and feel right for RMCLHN.
  • The Strategic Plan clearly communicates RMCLHN’s commitment to Aboriginal Health and Closing the Gap.
