The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is reinforcing our commitment to creating a safe environment for children and young people across our hospitals and services.

We are implementing our Child Safe Strategy 2025-30 across our network to strengthen a culture that supports the protection and wellbeing of children and young people.

Through our strategy we are upholding the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and SA Health's Child Safe Environments (Child Protection) Policy and ensuring child safety is embedded in our culture, policies and everyday practice.

These principles guide the organisation in creating environments where children feel safe, supported and heard.

Our strategy is built upon three Child Safe Strategic Pillars:

  • Leadership and Governance
  • Workforce and Culture, and
  • Consumer Engagement and Partnership.

NALHN Chief Executive Karen Puvogel says, "Child safety is at the heart of our work.”

"Becoming a Child Safe Organisation reinforces our responsibility to create environments where every child can thrive,” she said.

"NALHN will continue to review, monitor and enhance its practices to ensure children and young people remain safe, supported and empowered."
