Access to the Mount Barker District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital during construction
Important notice
Night works will occur on Wellington Road outside Mount Barker District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital from 29 June to mid-July 2026, between 7pm and 7am. Hospital access will be maintained 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Temporary speed and lane restrictions will apply and traffic management personnel will be on site. Please allow extra travel time and follow all signage.
Construction on the new multi-deck car park commenced mid-2025 and is expected to be completed mid-2026. This will provide 360 car parks for the hospital, in addition to existing parking on site. During this construction phase, access to the hospital has changed.

Road works on Wellington Road
The Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) will undertake service investigation works on Wellington Road, in front of Mount Barker District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. Works are scheduled to commence on Monday 29 June 2026 and are expected to continue until mid-July 2026. Works will occur between 7pm and 7am.
How this affects you
- Access to Mount Barker District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital will be maintained 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Temporary speed and lane restrictions will be in place during the works.
- Traffic management personnel will be on site.
- Some noise disturbance may occur; however, every effort will be made to minimise disruption.
- There will be no changes to public transport services.
