SA Health and its workers are critical to providing healthcare services to the South Australian community, and may during their employment, be required to drive within a metropolitan, regional and/or remote locations. The workplace can extend to the vehicle that is used for work related purposes, when on or around the road. The Driving Safe Guideline (PDF 628KB) outlines the best-practice approach and requirements that are to be met by SA Health workplaces to appropriately minimise the risks of driving and reduce fatalities on Australian roads.
Applicability
This guideline applies to all employees and contractors of SA Health; that is all employees and contractors of the Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW), Local Health Networks (LHNs) including state-wide services aligned with those Networks and SA Ambulance Service (SAAS).
