Digital Technology, Health Analysis Lens Project

The Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology (DFEEST) Digital Bridge Unit indicated an interest in collaborating with SA Health on a health lens analysis project in 2008.

Initial discussions revealed that digital technology access and use in low socioeconomic status populations to be an area of particular interest and importance to both agencies.

Researchers from the Flinders University of South Australia were commissioned to undertake a series of focus groups investigating the use of digital technologies by members of this population group.

The project resulted in the development of a series of recommendations which will be considered alongside those of Adelaide’s 2008 to 2009 Thinker in Residence, Dr Genevieve Bell.

Project evaluation

A project evaluation (Digital Technology Health Lens Evaluation Report (PDF 162KB) was undertaken following completion of the project. 

The aim of this evaluation is to examine the processes and methods used in the health lens analysis and explore the early impacts of the process in terms of policy development.
