Country Health SA is breaking down barriers to authentic partnership development through the outstanding application of co-design principles for planning health services. We are leading the balanced development of service plans that are tailored to communities and in line with overarching state and national policies. The views of local ‘on the ground’ clinicians, consumers who receive the services, and demographic and activity data are at the heart of the process.
Finalist — Breast Screening in the North
NALHN / BreastScreen SA, CALHN
Since 2016, NALHN has partnered with BSSA to implement strategies to improve the number of women aged 50-74 in the north accessing free breast cancer screening. Strategies have addressed barriers to screening such as access to services, improving health literacy, and improving motivation. As a result, screening numbers have improved for NALHN staff and the general public, and in particular the uptake of screening by new women has exceeded expectation.
