PDF 204 KB
In July 2012 SA Health released an independent external review on emergency department care at Flinders Medical Centre.
The review, led by Dr Mark Monaghan from Fremantle Hospital, provides 52 recommendations to improve emergency department access and refine patient flow throughout the South Australian public hospital system.
After consultation with clinicians, unions and Local Health Networks, SA Health has endorsed all 52 recommendations and has developed an implementation plan with timeframes for action.
Many of the recommendations are either in the planning phase or have commenced action. However as some of the recommendations will be implemented across all Local Health Networks the process will take several months to complete.
