Women's health service centres

SA Health women’s health centres aim to improve the health and well being of all South Australian women.

Some of the services include:

  • women specific medical services
  • health checks
  • counselling
  • support groups
  • support for refugee and migrant women
  • opportunities for community action and health information.

Centres also offer specific services for Aboriginal women, migrant and newly arrived women, and women who have experienced violence and abuse. Breast care nurses are available in certain rural areas to provide support for women diagnosed with breast cancer and their families. Some rural women’s health services also include community midwives.
