Occupational Health, Safety & Welfare & Injury Management

Occupational Health, Safety & Welfare & Injury Management (OHS&IM) provide services that contribute to a safe environment for RGH staff, volunteers, patients, visitors and contractors including:

  • injury/illness prevention
  • hazard and incident investigation
  • health & wellbeing programs

Services are available to all staff and volunteers.

Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapy Unit offers outpatient and inpatient services to help people with limited activity improve their independence and function. The limitations can be due to medical, surgical or psychosocial conditions and could include: 

  • stroke
  • neurological conditions
  • arthritis
  • heart conditions
  • surgery such as joint replacement
  • respiratory conditions
  • psychiatric illnesses

The service also supports people in overcoming influences such as motivation, the physical, knowledge, habits and environmental factors.

Orthopaedics - Arthroplasty

RGH Arthroplasty Unit provides specialised orthopaedic care for veterans and the southern community. The service offers a community clinic and also a veterans clinic.

Orthopaedics - General 

RGH General Orthopaedics Unit provides non-arthroplasty orthopaedic care for the southern community. Areas of specialty include:

  • hip
  • knee
  • upper limb - shoulder and elbow
  • foot and ankle
  • sports medicine

Please note: Veterans are seen in a separate clinic.
