The Paediatric Clinic offers medical services by a general paediatrician for children under the age of 18.

Physiotherapy

Noarlunga Hospital (NH) Physiotherapy Clinic provides public services for;

  • people with musculoskeletal problems
  • orthopaedic surgery follow up
  • women with pregnancy related problems such as continence or pain.
  • women experiencing difficulty with continence.

Group services can include;

  • short term supervised exercise based rehabilitation
  • 'Mums on the Move' for ante/post-natal women
  • cardiac rehabilitation (outreach of Flinders Medical Centre).

Please note: Private patients (Department of Veterans Affairs clients, Work Cover claims or patients seeking compensation) are not eligible for this service.

Hours:  9.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday

Referrals:

Referrals for public patients are prioritised based on a patient’s clinical need. Alternate private services are likely to be more accessible for those with the following circumstances:

  • private physiotherapy insurance cover
  • eligible for chronic disease management programs (EPC) GP referrals
  • compensable

Please note: People more than 65 years of age may be able to access physiotherapy services quicker at their local day therapy centre.

Please include on referral form as much detail as possible regarding the problem, and attach relevant scans/x-ray reports.

Psychology

Clinical Psychology provides inpatient and outpatient services to help people develop skills to adjust their behaviour and understanding and help them regulate emotion.

We help people with:

  • depression or anxiety related to illness or injury
  • making adjustments due to chronic illness, grief/loss, or psychological trauma
  • managing pain
  • health lifestyle changes

Referrals:

This service is only available to adults who are already inpatients or outpatients of Noarlunga Hospital.

People who do not have an ongoing relationship with the hospital can access local psychology services through community health services such as GP Plus at Noarlunga, Morphett Vale, Aldinga or Seaford, or private psychology via Medicare’s Better Access Scheme.
