Visiting hours for Flinders Medical Centre

Family and friends are welcome to visit. Please note that some wards encourage a rest time for patients after lunch until 3.00pm. Check with individual wards. Children visiting wards must be directly supervised by an adult at all times.

In the interests of patient wellbeing, the following visiting times have been set:

Cardiac Care Ward
10.00am to 8.00pm.

Intensive and Critical Care Ward
We encourage visitors to visit between 1.00pm and 9.00pm. However, visiting can be at any hour depending on the condition of the patient.

Neonatal Unit
Please note that visiting needs to be approved by parents of the baby. Parents and brothers and sisters of the baby can visit at any time. Quiet time in the unit is between 12.00 noon and 3.00pm, when the lights are dimmed to help babies rest.

Variety Children’s Centre (Paediatric Ward)
Open visiting hours for parents, carers and grandparents. Other family members and friends are welcome from 11.00am to 8.00pm.

Maternity wards
Visiting from 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm.

Margaret Tobin Centre
Weekdays: 9.00am to 8.30pm for Wards 5H and 5K; 2.00pm to 5.00pm for Ward 5J.
(public holidays and weekends 10.00am to 12 noon and 2.00pm to 5.00pm)
Weekends: 10.00am to 5.00pm for open wards.

Please note: visiting outside of these hours is at the discretion of the senior nurse on duty. However, in the interest of the wellbeing of patients, nursing staff may restrict visiting.

Children visiting must be directly supervised by an adult at all times.
