Statewide Eating Disorder Service
The Statewide Eating Disorder Service (SEDS), is a specialised mental health service for South Australians. We provide assessment, care and information for people living with an eating disorder, or where an eating disorder may be developing, their families and carers. Education and support is available for those needing further information and assistance.
Inpatient care is located at Ward 4GP at Flinders Medical Centre with the Day and Program and outpatient services are at our Brighton site.
Our focus is caring for people with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and other specified feeding or eating disorders.
Assessment and treatment
Members of the multidisciplinary team use their expertise and experience to formulate a careful diagnosis. Treatment recommendations and plans of care are then tailored to the individuals needs.
All treatments recommended and used at SEDS have been widely researched and demonstrated to be effective.
The service comprises of a skilled multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, dietician, occupational therapist, social worker, and specialist mental health nurses.

An intake clinician is available during business hours and will respond to your enquiry promptly however SEDS is not an acute or crisis service.
