Benefits of being a Crunch&Sip® school

The Crunch&Sip® program is currently being rolled out across the South Australia with many primary schools being invited to join the program.  A letter and a fax-back form will be sent to the school principal and health and PE coordinators.  Many schools already have a snack time in the classroom, and those schools will also be invited to take advantage of the many resources available to Crunch&Sip® registered schools.

Benefits to your school

  • Meeting requirements of the Department of Education and Children's Services (DECS) Healthy eating guidelines with regard to promoting fruit and vegetable consumption, having scheduled break times for eating, promoting the drinking of plain tap water and supporting these practices through your school’s food supply and nutrition policy.
  • Receiving resources to assist with promoting the messages of healthy eating, and fruit and vegetable consumption, including incentives for student’s and curriculum resources.
  • Being acknowledged as a Crunch&Sip®  school on the national website.
  • Having well informed parents, families and the local community.
  • Recognition of the important links between your student’s wellbeing, nutrition and readiness to learn.
