Non-Violent Crisis Intervention: Preventing and de-escalating aggressive behaviour training course
Suitable for all staff
1 day workshop
The Non-Violent Crisis Intervention® program, developed by Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), not only teaches staff to respond effectively to the warning signs that someone is beginning to lose control, but also addresses how staff can deal with their own stress, anxieties, and emotions when confronted with these challenging situations.
This program has been designed to concentrate on prevention, de-escalation, and the breakaway principles to assist staff to respond early to a potential crisis. Participants will develop a clear process of interventions to assist in preventing an escalation of anxiety and aggression as well as develop and understanding of the impact their responses can have on a potentially aggressive incident.
Workshops will have a focus on either in-patient or community settings, with a variety of accompanying strategies for improving consumer pathways being included. This may include sensory modulation, prevention plans, strategies for safer home visiting, legislative issues etc.
