We often hear about the importance of becoming more resilient and optimistic in order to guard against the ever changing world we live in. Our lives are becoming increasingly busier and distracting and additionally for some, they are filled with boredom, loneliness and despair. For others, the world is an exciting, curious and thoroughly fascinating place in which to live.

How can people think so differently ? A new science of happiness is emerging which is leading to better understandings of how our thinking can impact on the view we have of ourselves, others and the world in general. 

Personal resources such as optimism, resilience as well as building a positive sense of wellbeing can assist us to build better lives, relationships and overall fulfillment. 

This workshop aims to introduce emerging concepts contained within the new science of happiness and will draw on leading research and theories in particular positive psychology.

Participants will learn about:

  • the role that increasing optimistic thinking can play in responding to external issues and perceived threats
  • how to locate and develop resilient ways of thinking
  • more about the science of happiness in terms of what we know now as well as what's around the corner
  • how to incorporate positive resources into your workplace and lives
