The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare is currently reviewing National Safety and Quality accreditation arrangements and aims to develop an alternative mode of accreditation, including standards, that can be applied across all sectors of the health care system.
A consultation paper was circulated and results were reported to Health Ministers in 2010.
SA Health is standardising credentialling processes across the state. Part of this process has involved the production and implementation of a policy on credentialling and defining the scope of clinical practice for medical and dental practitioners.
