SA Health has identified multiple people who had contact with the patient, and 14 close contacts have been directed to receive clearance antibiotics.
Meningococcal health information has been distributed to contacts in accordance with the Invasive Meningococcal Disease Communicable Diseases Network Australia: National Guidelines for Public Health Units.

Of the 27 cases, 22 have been serogroup B, one serogroup Y, and four serogroup W.
No links have been established between this case and other recent cases.
A total of 36 cases were reported in 2017 (22 were serogroup B, 11 were serogroup W and three were serogroup Y).
