What's new at Noarlunga
The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network has endorsed a new Consumer and Community Engagement Model.
The new model, which has been developed in partnership with consumers, consolidates previous site and service based consumer councils to create a Network-wide approach to consumer and community engagement.
It offers a range of new opportunities for consumer and community participation.
Read more about how you can get involved on page 15 of the October edition of Southern Health News.
The Emergency Department (ED) provides emergency services to the southern area, treating approximately 50,000 people a year.
The ED offers a caring service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
24 hour x-ray and pathology facilities are available on site.
Our ED team consists of medical officers, registered and enrolled nurses, clerical staff and client support staff. Access to Noarlunga Emergency Mental Health is also available in the ED.
When you arrive at the emergency department you will be seen by the duty nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury. All patients are triaged as per the Australasian triage scoring process.
More seriously ill patients are transferred to the nearest major hospital, Flinders Medical Centre at Bedford Park.
All visiting hours are at the nurses discretion.
