GP Plus Health Care Strategy

The GP Plus Health Care Strategy (PDF 468KB) was released by the South Australian Government in August 2007. The Strategy underpins SA Health’s approach to health care in South Australia, in particular our approach to primary and community care.

The Strategy aims to:

  • facilitate the Government’s agenda to provide a fully integrated and accessible health care system and increase health promotion, illness prevention and early intervention services
  • work closely with general practice and other services including greater collaboration between State and Australian Government funded agencies to better respond to the health needs of local populations.

In country South Australia, the Strategy is known as the Better Care in the Community Program.
