Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) service is central to SA Health's ability to deliver the current high level of health care services. They provide specialist services to ensure SA Health can meet its current and future objectives.
These functions include:
- delivering procurement/contracting strategies
- leading the establishment of contracts for
- services
- grants
- health consumables
- equipment
- information communication technology goods and services
- managing contracts for SA Health services, consumables and equipment
- providing leadership, business partnering and service supply and delivery across health services ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
- leading reform projects to provide value for money and improve health care service delivery
- managing SA Health’s fleet of vehicles
- leading and participating in across Government initiatives at both State and Federal level
- undertaking an emergency management role in procurement and supply chain
- maintaining compliance with the State Procurement Act 2004, which includes
- ensuring value for money in the expenditure of public money
- providing for the ethical and fair treatment of participants
- ensuring probity, accountability and transparency in procurement operations.
SA Health’s Procurement and Supply Chain Management directorate supports the delivery of public health services in South Australia by providing a state-wide strategic leadership and operational role in:
- sourcing
- contract management
- commercial advice
- supply chain
- fleet management
