Modbury Hospital review
Recent changes to the service configuration of Modbury Hospital have enabled improvement in the way the hospital provides services to the local community in a number of areas, including significantly increasing the number of elective surgeries performed at the hospital.
To ensure that we continue to provide the right services to our local community, we are now considering and reviewing how we can build upon these service reforms and continue to deliver appropriate, high-quality care for our patients into the future.
A review is being undertaken to assess what changes could be introduced to build upon and complement existing hospital services.
The Minister for Health, Hon Peter Malinauskas MLC, SA Health CE Vickie Kaminski and Northern Adelaide Local health Network CEO Jackie Hanson recently met with a number of clinicians, staff and community representatives in a series of meetings to discuss the review. These meetings, along with the many written submissions received from staff and the community, will play a vital role in determining which potential improvements could be made to build upon and complement the services currently provided at the hospital.
Modbury Hospital continues to have a well-proven reputation across our health system and in the community and as always, we want to make decisions in the best interests of all the consumers who rely upon our services.
A final decision on which improvements will be introduced is expected to be made in the coming weeks.
