Code of Practice for the Provision of Facilities for Personal Hygiene and Sanitation
The Code of Practice for the Provision of Facilities for Sanitation and Personal Hygiene (the Code) is currently under review.
SA Health has updated the Code to include more stringent requirements in relation to the management of sharps disposal in community settings. The provision of appropriate sharps disposal facilities in public toilets promotes the safe disposal of sharps and reduces the risks of injuries through accidental contact with sharps that have been illegally or inappropriately disposed of.
A revised Code has been prepared and you are invited to provide a submission on the draft Code which is available for stakeholder and public consultation until 26 January 2018.
The outcome of this review may result in amendment to the draft Code and further exploration of any issues identified through this consultation process.
