Health care rights

Everyone who is seeking or receiving care in the South Australian health system has rights about their care.  Patients, consumers, carers, healthcare providers and health service organisations all have an important part to play in achieving healthcare rights and contributing to safe and high quality healthcare.

Your rights

Please refer to the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights and the South Australian Charter for Consumers. The Your Rights and Responsibilities (PDF 518KB) booklet explains your rights and responsibilities. It also tells you what to expect when you attend a public hospital or health centre or if you receive a home visit from one of our services.
