Paediatric Clinical Practice Guidelines

Primarily aimed at clinicians working in primary care, local, regional, general or tertiary hospitals the CPGs are point of care guidelines, developed to assist clinicians with decisions about appropriate health care for children and young people, and to promote consistency of paediatric clinical practice. They are underpinned by evidence-based clinical practice principles, which consider patient preference and clinician professional judgement.

SA Health has joined the Paediatric Improvement Collaborative (PIC) in partnership with Clinical Excellence Queensland, the New South Wales Agency for Clinical Innovation, Safer Care Victoria, and the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne to further enhance the quality of Paediatric Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) in Australia.

South Australian PCPGs will be gradually decommissioned and replaced with PIC endorsed versions.

Clinicians should be familiar with local clinical governance and follow local policy, procedures, and guidelines in the first instance, or consider local nuance in applying guidelines.
